Did you hear the lovely “singing in the mountains” the evening of the Fourth coming from the crowd who spent the day in the Farnsworth cabin. It was a beautiful ending to a beautiful day to hear the strains of our old patriotic songs and some of our old hymns come floating on the breeze through the dusk. WANTED .... A recipe Some good cook brought a dish to the Hebb Party that had beets and pineapple chunks in it. The co-pilot of this column ha$ had many inquiries of “who brought that beet dish?" And “can you get the recipe for me?” Soooooooo, if it was YOU who brought that delicious dish that Saturday evening, will you please get in touch with Mary Jo Batson (966-4419) and give her the recipe — that is, if you will share it with about a dozen women here in Sapphire? Col. Lou Miller and daughter Lisa (Seymour Johnson Air Force Base) spent a few days with the Hal Gordon family. Col. Miller had to go back to his Base, but Lisa stayed here in the hills.
